Natural Building Workshop May 2026
Natural Building Intensive
May 4th-18th 2026
Step into a hands-on, life-changing journey to help build a beautiful, functional example of what modern natural homes can be—affordable, healthy, climate-resilient, and deeply connected to place.
You’ll get to stay in other examples of natural buildings from the Luxury farm stay ‘NEO farm Retreat’ to traditional mud house and camping at “Rituals and Retreat” as well as staying in farm accommodation closer to site.
Over the immersive workshop you’ll eat delicious home-cooked organic meals, and wake up each morning surrounded by the sights and sounds of Nepal while learning time-tested and innovative natural building techniques from experienced practitioners. Together we will raise walls, shape curves, and finish surfaces using almost entirely local, natural, and waste-stream materials.
What you’ll learn and do:
Wattle and daub infill walls – weaving flexible wattles and packing rich earthen mixes
Earth plasters
Lime washing, lime paints, and traditional lime mortars
Curved and sculptural detailing that turns simple buildings into art
Food forest design and planting – permaculture guilds, fruit trees, medicinal herbs, and perennial vegetables
Every day you’ll get your hands dirty, laugh with new friends from around the world, and see a structure rise from the ground beneath your fingertips.
All meals (three a day, cooked with love using garden produce), tools, materials, local transport, and 5–7 hours of guided practical work and theory sessions are included. Time to explore local hiking trails, ancient towns and temples and immerse yourself in the culture of Nepal.
This is more than a workshop—it’s a chance to be part of a building revolution, to learn skills you can take home and teach others, and to experience the magic of building with earth, water, air, and sun in one of the most beautiful valleys on earth.
No prior experience necessary—just curiosity, good energy, and a willingness to work with your hands and heart.
Dates: May 4th-18th 2026 Location: Outskirts of Kathmandu Valley, Nepal Maximum 12 participants
Join us. Build naturally. Live differently.
